Ryan Lowe joins San Jose Sharks

Ryan Lowe formerly of the Canberra Knights and Sydney Bears got the call up by the San Jose Sharks today.

Lowe was signed to a professional tryout agreement enabling him to to be the emergency backup tonight. With San Jose’s backup goalie Troy Grosenick being ruled out of the lineup, and Alex Stalock on the injured reserve list, the Sharks scrambled for a goalie.

Luckily for Ryan, he was in the right place at the right time being the goalie coach for the Jnr. Sharks since May.

The more amusing thing is the US reporting the AIHL as a professional hockey league.

All we hope is that Ryan enjoyed the awesome experience that it must have been.
