VENUE & DATE :: Medibank Icehouse, Melbourne Saturday 9th & 10th of February 2013

LAST TIME :: Ice defeated Adrenaline 6-0

WHAT’S WHAT :: The last round at home for the Melbourne Ice before the finals commence, the home team will be looking for some great support. Both Melbourne Ice and Adelaide Adrenaline have had an impressive season performing strongly over all areas on the ice. The Melbourne ladies hold a striking track record during their home games (unbeaten after four games), while Adrenaline play some of their best work in challenging circumstances.

Last time these two teams met was back in Round 1 where the points were split as Adelaide rose victorious 4-3 on Saturday while game 2 saw Melbourne finish the Round with an impressive 6-0 win on Sunday.

WHO’S HOT :: For Melbourne Ice, they can credit their strong season performances to “great teamwork” however last Round’s matchup against the Goannas saw defender Georgie Carson step up and even scoring herself. Goalie Courtney Rea is always one to watch, as she is never one to let a puck slip through and has been a large part of the strong goaltending lineup. McPhail, Padjen and Parrington are always dangerous in the forward line and have played consistently all season.

Adelaide has a strong roster in all areas of the ice with the likes of Claudia Tom in net and Andrea Steranko scoring goals up forward, the Adrenaline has all areas of the ice covered. Another notable player would have to be Bethanie Kavanagh who has played remarkably all season and always delivers when her team looks to be in trouble.

WE THINK :: Both teams will be eager, to have a good start with a few quick goals to ease the struggle later on in the game. The Ice  love the opportunity to play in front of their home crowd, while Adrenaline will always step up to any challenge that is put before them. A top of the tables clash, this is one match not to be missed.
