The Melbourne Mustangs have adopted a new look for the 2013 season incorporating a new logo, with additional changes to the home and away jersey and an alternative third Jersey to be marketed to Mustangs fans. Georgie Bull reports.
The new designs are part of a number of changes the Mustangs will implement for the upcoming season, looking to reinvent their image after a disappointing bottom finish last year.
Mustangs CEO Rod Johns told HSN that the new logo came down to four or five designs.
“We put the best parts of them all together to come up with the logo that you see today. We like it and we believe the public and fanbase likes it as well.”
In addition to logo change, the Mustangs have also altered the design of their game apparel. The Mustangs will be seen in white Jerseys for home games and black for away games in conjunction with the new AIHL ruling for the 2103 season.
A third orange Jersey has also been introduced, however this will not be worn by the players. Johns stated that “you’ll see the orange jersey in the stands and around the town but not on the ice.”
Mustangs supporters will be hoping that a new coach, fresh image, and a sea of fans donning new orange jerseys cheering them on will be the change that sees them breaking into the finals this year.
