Darryl George released

Darryl George has been released by the Tampa Bay Rays.

George spent three years in the Rays system, splitting time between Rookie and A ball.

He also won a Rays minor league player of the year award for the Hudson Valley Renegades at the end of the 2013 season.

While there is no good time to be released, the timing was particularly poor for George, who underwent season ending surgery in August and will not play for the Melbourne Aces this season.

In another life I spent a lot of my time playing sport, so I feel lucky now knowing I get to write and talk about it. Time is also invested in education (both my own and others) and finding another new restaurant to try.
